ECB hands out first multi-year central contracts

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Tuesday that Harry Brook, Joe Root, and Mark Wood have been awarded three-year central contracts as part of their new multi-year contracting system. Ben Stokes, the captain of the England Test team, has received a one-year contract, while Jos Buttler, who leads the white-ball side, has been granted a two-year contract. It's worth noting that in 2021, England transitioned to a new central contract system, departing from the previous arrangement introduced by the ECB in 2016.
