1st T20I: Bangladesh claim historic victory over New Zealand

Bangladesh secured a historic five-wicket victory over New Zealand in the opening game of their three-match Twenty20 series. This win marked Bangladesh's first Twenty20 victory on New Zealand soil, following their recent maiden away one-day international win over the Black Caps. New Zealand, batting first, struggled and only managed to reach 134 for nine in their 20 overs. Bangladesh's seamers performed exceptionally well, with Litton Das contributing a crucial unbeaten 42 runs and Mahedi Hasan hitting the winning runs in a partnership with Das. The second and third Twenty20 matches will be held in Mount Maunganui.
