Virat & Rohit as T20I openers: Dravid keeps the option open

India's skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been named in the squad for the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan, which starts on Thursday. Kohli will be unavailable for the opener and will join the team from the second T20I, leading to speculation about an opening partnership with Rohit. India's head coach, Rahul Dravid, acknowledged the talent and skill sets of both players, but clarified that Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal will continue as openers for the upcoming Afghanistan series.
