Marais Erasmus to retire from international cricket

Veteran South African umpire Marais Erasmus has announced his retirement from international umpiring after the conclusion of the ongoing Test series between New Zealand and Australia. Erasmus, who initially made a name for himself as a seam-bowling all-rounder for Boland in South Africa’s domestic cricket circuit, transitioned to umpiring at the international level in 2006.
