'Took a punt on trying...': Curran after convincing 7-wicket win

Jonny Bairstow's brisk 46 off 30 balls and Rilee Rossouw's aggressive 43 off 23 balls steered Punjab past Chennai's modest total of 162 for seven, anchored by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad's resilient 62 off 48 balls. This victory propelled PBKS to seventh place on the points table with eight points, while CSK maintained fourth place with 10 points. The CSK's defence of 163 faced multiple barricades as their spinners – Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja – were rendered ineffective because of dew and pacer Deepak Chahar walked off the field with a niggle after bowling just two balls.
